The Grease Rack

We went with a large party on a Saturday night for a birthday party. We were seated quickly, the service was excellent, the drinks were never empty, and the food was really good. I had the Earl special. It came with soup and salad. The French onion soup had excellent flavor, and the New York strip they served me was cooked to order at medium perfectly. No steak sauce needed.

Great Steaks good prices for the portions you get building is a bit run down but great service

Interesting place. Steak has a unique flavor. Staff was friendly. Kind of felt like going back in time (70's), but once inside very comfortable. Many of the customers were repeat, and drive good distances to eat here. I'd like to try it again.

Don't judge a book by its cover! Fantastic steaks, best in Newport. The facility could use a facelift but the food is DEFINITELY worth the trip! I had a perfect blackened 16oz NY Strip with a salad and loaded baked potato for around $22. 👍👍👍

If you want good food with an outstanding atmosphere this is the place

Great crab cakes!!! Fast service and food was delicious. I have traveled all over and these crab cakes are number one in my book!!

Got to eat at the Grease Rack today thanks to winning the contest they had. The food and staff are awesome. Loved the cleanliness and atmosphere of it. We will definitely be back. Thank you Grease Rack. Oh the cheese cake is delicious just like everything else

If you can find the place, it is well worth the visit. One of the best steaks I had in a long time

I wish I shared the same view for this restaurant that most of the those here but unfortunately I can't. We're going to generously rate it with 3 stars. This place gets a lot of local business. Most are locals that know the owners. But for my first time I found it generally similar to other Newport restaurants. There are better places to eat but at least 30 to 40 mins away. The tables were nasty. The food is okay but at best warm not hot. Rolls are out of the package, not fresh and doughy. Potatoes were not done. Fries were okay. Ice and tea is transferred from container to container to fill various dispensers. So it's handled a lot leaving opportunities for contamination. The staff works very hard and the service is why there's 3 stars. I just wish that they would work on the temperature of their food. Just too many openings for contamination in our opinion.

The greatest steaks on earth!!!! If you love steaks then you need to come to the grease rack. The soup and salad are great also, they have some of the best ranch dressing. Did I mention that every thing is homemade and the service is awesome. Go on fridays and you get a free piece of cheese cake with select steaks. The grease rack is only open on Wednesday thru Saturday and opens at 4:30

First time trying this place. Husband and I had crab cakes. They were delicious. And the sides are great too.Can't believe what a great restaurant this place is here. Looking forward to our next visit.

Doesn't look great on the outside but the food is to die for. The steak is the best around.

This may be the best ribeye I have ever eaten. Perfectly done. Tender. Juicy. Perfectly seared. Oh my goodness - skip the chain restaurants by the interstate and find this place. Five minutes from the exit. Charming atmosphere and such a friendly staff. Five stars. If I could only give a sixth star...We also ordered a cheeseburger. Can the humble cheeseburger be called amazing? Yes. Large patty, cooked to perfection. Wow. And the home-cut fries are delicious, too.

Ok, if we had been here several times b4 this visit this might have gotten a five star still. But it was our first and even tho it ended well it didn't start of good. We were im sure the first customers and was seated n told she would be back to get drink orders but forgot. Another came got them And ask someone else to take our order. She did so and returned with our soup n rolls. About half way thru she brought our salads which was all good. Then came our meals. Two of these were to be ribeyes-med. But they were done. They took them back and made more and one was ok but other was still over cooked but was a nice flavor and tender shui it was ok. Now, the chocolate cake? warm with icecream n Carmel syrup....omg, I know my son n myself are not gonna sleep tonight. And I'm sorry I don't have a pic of dessert because I didn't have time to take one lol....

I really enjoy the food and atmosphere. Our family really enjoys the fellowship.

Just wow...and yummy.This is certainly a hidden gem of the area. And I hope to be back in the area again to come back.Ribeye... was on point...cooked beautifully, seasoned perfectly. French fries were great too, as were the fried green beans,pickles and mozzarella sticks.Only sad note...I had no room for desert....maybe next time!

Came here recently as I was touring throughout the US south east. I had one of the most amazing experiences of my life! From the moment i walked through the door, I felt like I was family. My waitress Suzie provided me with the best service I had ever had in my life. The steak was tender, juicy and cooked to perfection. They also had an excellent selection of microbrews available on tap and in bottle, nice touch. Highly recommended!

Wasn't sure what to expect we were just in Newport for the day. The food was amazing! Cooked perfectly was our steaks. Sweet tea on point. And the Newport Cheesecake was soooo good! We will be returning...

Wonderful place to eat! Their steaks are worth the price and their grilled chicken is just as good. Had their strawberry cheesecake tonight, 1/7/20 and it was so good! Waitress Susie served us well...

Tried to find a local place to eat and came upon this location. Staff super friendly and the steaks are excellent. For the price you can’t beat the food No way you should leave hungry.

Absolutely the worst steak iv ever had. I would not recommend this unevenly cooked, tendon/gristle filled steaks to anyone. Couldn’t believe the poor quality.
